This cup is inspired by “gaozubei,” a type of drinkware popular around the 14th century in China. The graceful, open curves of this cup invite the wine to flow, while the narrow and elongated stem encourages toasting with others and savoring their drink. Made with locally sourced cherry wood in the Hudson Valley, the cup’s interior is coated with layers of hand-brushed lacquer, derived from the sap of the lacquer tree, providing water resistance and enhanced durability.
